Summary
Tendbell stores your information on your device (and, only if you turn on iCloud Sync, in your own private iCloud). We do not run servers that receive your data, we do not require an account, and the app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking.
What the app stores
The medications you enter (name, dose, form, schedule, dates, stock and notes), the doses you mark as taken or skipped, and your app settings. This information can relate to your health, so it stays on your device.
Where it is stored
In the app’s private storage on your device and, for the widget, in a storage area shared only between the app and its widget. If you use encrypted iPhone backups or iCloud Backup, this data may be included in those backups, which are controlled by your Apple account. On Android, the system backup of your Google account may include it in the same way.
iCloud Sync (optional)
If you turn on iCloud Sync (part of Tendbell Plus), your medications, profiles and dose history are also stored in your private iCloud database, which only your Apple Account can access. The data is kept in encrypted fields (end-to-end encrypted if you use Advanced Data Protection); we cannot read it. Settings and reminder preferences stay on each device. When you turn sync off, nothing more is synced; you can delete the iCloud copy in iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud.
Health app (optional)
If you use “Add from the Health App”, Tendbell reads only the medications you select in the system’s permission sheet, and only to prefill a new medication. Tendbell never writes to the Health app, does not store Health data beyond the medications you add, and never uses it for advertising or shares it.
Family sharing (optional)
If you share a profile with Tendbell Family, that profile’s medications and dose history are stored in a separate area of your private iCloud and shared through Apple’s iCloud sharing only with the people you invite. They can see the profile and mark doses; their changes come back to you the same way. People you invite see your name as iCloud shows it. You can stop sharing at any time, and invited people can leave at any time. Tendbell receives none of this data.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications created on your device. They are not sent through any server. You can hide medication names from notifications and the widget in Settings.
Purchases
Tendbell Plus is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details. To unlock Plus, the app reads the purchase status that Apple’s StoreKit provides on your device. This purchase status is not sent to us or to any third party. On Android, Google Play does the same: it processes the payment and the app checks the purchase on the device.
Sharing
We do not sell, share or transfer your data. Data leaves your device only when you turn on iCloud Sync or choose to export it and share the file yourself.
Your choices
You can view and edit everything in the app, export all of your data as a file from Settings, and permanently delete all data from Settings or by deleting the app.
Children
Tendbell is not directed at children under 13. A parent or caregiver may use the app to manage a child’s medication reminders on their own device.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published in the app with a new date.
